Football Practice
Volunteer job descriptions
Concession Stand -
Determine menu (coffee, tea, water, pizza, cookies, etc)
Seek out donors for the food and/or purchase items as necessary
Create posters with prices
Anticipate all items you will need to run the stand (coolers, ice, napkins, table cloth, garbage bags, tent, etc.)
Ready a cash box with ones, fives, and tens in order to make change. (Mrs. Henrichs has a cash box)
Arrive 30 minutes before the game. Bring all items to the game. Set up the stand.
7th grade parents will run the stand during game.
At end of game, give cash box to Mrs. Henrichs
Throw away all trash, remove items brought to the stand, and clean up the concession area.
Entrance Gate -
Create a sign that clearly states the price of admission. ($5 a person, $20 a family)
Ready a cash box with ones, fives, and tens in order to make change. (Mrs. Henrichs has a cash box)
Bring a stamp of marker to mark patrons for reentry
Arrive 30 minutes before the game to set-up.
At end of game, give cash box to Mrs. Henrichs
50/50 Raffle
Purchase 50/50 raffle tickets.
Get buckets from Mrs. Henrichs to use at the game.
Get several pens so people can write their names and telephone numbers on the tickets (should they not be present for the drawing)
Arrive 30 minutes before the game begin. Stand at the gate and sell tickets.
7th grade parents/students will sell tickets during the game.
Divide the winnings in half. Give the class' half to Mrs. Henrichs.
After the 3rd quarter, go to the Press Box and pick a winner. Give half the money to the winner.
Cheerleading
Create a few cheers for the little ones to learn.
Reserve a place in the school where practices can be held. Mrs. Henrichs or Mrs. Walter can help with this task. Set a practice schedule.
Send out a letter asking students to come and cheer. Include information on the practice schedule and the game.
Be at the Pep Rally (October 25 at 2:30pm) to lead the cheerleaders.
During the game, lead cheers from the sidelines. Have the cheerleaders do a 3-5 minute routine at the game.
Marketing/Publicity
Starting September-end, publish information on the game and the 50/50 Raffle in the Church Bulletin
Make posters to hang in the Narthex and in supportive businesses on Mack Ave.
Ask the Grosse Pointe News to cover the game. Submit an article to the paper for publication early October.
